Yes, it'll run. You might have a problem with the 1024 limit, if your
motherbard has a problem with it (I've never had any problems with
that). What messages are you getting when it will refuse to boot? Also,
what boot loader are you using?

If you made a boot floppy, try that. Does it work, as opposed to the
boot loader?
