For email under Linux, everything available currently sucks. Or to be
more precise, no email client I've used, with the exception of
Netscape's, supports all the features I need all at once. (And it's not
like I'm overly critical, all I need is IMAP, mail filters, nested
folders, but you'd be surprised at how many email clients don't have one
or more of those essential features.)

Evolution shows promise but is still really unstable on my box. It also
will take several minutes to move a message from one folder to another,
which is perplexing as to why it takes so long.

Likewise, The Kompany's Aethera looks promising, but I have been totally
unable to even get it to run as of yet.

There's a client, the name of which I've forgotten at the moment,
written by a Japanese fellow that looks really nice, but uses the
maildir format, which I hate as most things use mbox, which makes it
hard to move back and forth.

KMail, once they get IMAP support into the mainstream release looks like
it might be a winner.

So for now, I'm still using Netscape as my browser and email client.

The biggest problem is that NOBODY FREAKIN' SUPPORTS IMAP. I swear, I
can only believe that email client developers only own ONE machine from
which they do all their work, which must be some fancy-schmancy laptop
they can take with them everywhere they go, so only supporting POP isn't
a big deal. In a given week, I might use one of any of half a dozen
different machines, so if my email can't be kept on my server and _any_
client I'm using at the moment be able to read it from there (i.e. IMAP)
the client, AFAIC, is utterly broken.
