I've never used VMWare so I can't compare. I'm also not a Windows power
user. The few times that I have used it there has not been a crash. I
will probably be attending the Dunedin meeting and I could bring in the
box for her to try it out. She's welcome to install and uninstall
whatever she needs to use.
