Yes, I did wipe the linux partition with fdisk before reinstalling. I
can boot into Windows without problems and can use the installation disk
to boot to linux in single user mode.

I'd love to come to a meeting but I work until 6:00 PM and carpool. I
wouldn't be able to make it home and then back to the meeting.
