Actually neither. It was a .bin downloaded from Sun.
j2re-1_3_1-linux-i386.bin to be exact. All it did was create a
directory under /usr/lib named jre1.3.1. I created the link and that
was that. Lets me go back to the old jre by just changing the link.

I also used the LimeWire for Linux. The previous one (1.5?) wouldn't
work and I had to use the "Generic Unix" LimeWire. But the 1.6b version
for Linux does work with SuSE given a "java 2" jre.

On any given day LimeWire shows that Gnutella net has about 50 someodd
TERABYTES of files available. For some reason gnut shows a lot more. I
can run them both at the same time too.
