suggest that much of what many of us would like to do requires their more
expensive ($91.) basic business account rather than the $39. residential
account?

Verizon's residential account policy permits a home Web page via your
DSL connection (which would include many of the things excluded by
RapidSys), and given that they encourage a "home business" use of the
residential account there is no reason to believe that they restrict the
use of a home LAN.
