FWIW, the AT&T DSL service to my Detroit address is:

Single user 144 Kbps / IDSL $89.95 - 1 dynamic IP

Multi-User 144-144Kbps $139.95 - up to 29 static IPs and, one
would assume, no argument about running one of the worlds lamest
web servers.

Since I am getting a 10Mbps connection (at present) from
comcast@home for $42.95, I really can't see DSL right now. Yes,
a lot of my downloads arrive at well over 700Kbps. Who knows, if
@home actually dies (They need to sell that stupid portal even
if they lose a few bucks on the deal ... the rest of the
business is actually profitable -- indefinitely.)
self-sustaining.) I might end up with this lame-o DSL. But not
just yet.
