Hi Robert,

I suggest looking at using cheap 20 to 30 Gig hard drive mounted in a mobile
rack for backup.
I stopped using tape backups years ago because they took too long and failed
when you really needed to restore files.

I got four 20 Gig 5400 RPM for $60 per and two 30 Gig 7200 RPM for $100 each
on sale at CompUSA over the last year or so. The mobile racks cost $20 each
and allow you to pop the drives in and out quickly.

A cool feature is there is no additional tape or special software required
to use the hard drive - the drivers and software come with your system.

Shop around and compare what products are available to do the job you need.
I did, and its the mobile racks and hard drives for me. They are reliable
and fast. I backup 10 to 20 Gigs every week or so without problems rotating
or cyling drives.
