I have been reading the news group about backups and I was reminded of a recent problem about backing up a disk before the system disk was wiped for rebuilding. (It was a
windows system)
I don't know if this will ever happen on linux, but when the disk's files were copied to the cd the file attribute READ ONLY was set on all of the files. This caused some
problems when the files were restored for files that were rewritten regularly.
Could this type of thing happen with writing files to linux cd roms.
