I have given up on the HP and am looking to swap it and a Pentium 120
desktop (with Linux e-smith server loaded) for a pair of IBM 600x
laptops (with somewhat minimum configurations, 266cpu, no modem unless
tested for Linux, no internal nic unless tested for Linux).
I need rugged laptops that are Linux friendly for emergency communications,
something that is of increased criticality these days!
My HP is an OmniBook 4100. Pentium II 266 cpu, 14.1" display, 6g hdd,
96m ram, usb, pcmcia, cd, fdd, original HP CDs.
Perhaps someone more clever than I can get Linux running on the OmniBook,
I just need to get Progeny-Debian on something rugged, reliable, and
portable and soon and I think the IBMs are the ticket!
If you hear of any out there I am looking! (But unless I sell this stuff I
will
have to work a swap.)
