Actually, OpenOffice is GPL. This is why the OpenOffice is getting
so much more support without any questions asked unlike any other
Sun project that is not GPL.

Sun can value-add additional components to the GPL components when
repackaging. It can also modify and release a non-GPL version of
any GPL components they hold 100% copyright of the source code on.
This is known as dual-licensed GPL -- again, provided you hold 100%
of the copyrights on all the GPL code. You do this by either
writing all the software yourself, licensing the rights from others
for their various sections/patents (like individual OpenOffice
devotees), etc...
