[SLUG] Burned ROMs not Reading

Hi All

I burned a CD-ROM on my Linux PC and my newer 50x reader reads it just fine.  
However, I have an older PC that I was planning to install linux on that will
not read the CD.  Is there some option I must set so that older 8X cd-rom
drives can read a burned CD-rom?
