I've found that when I have problems resolving dependencies the search engine at www.rpmfind.net is the best place to look. Plug gal into it and see what you get. (Download the Mandrake gal source rpm and rpm --rebuild it, then install it.)Worst case (if it won't compile), you can try the rpm from RedHat 7.1 if you can't find a Mandrake package in order to resolve the dependency.
