By which I intended to point out that any comparison he might make
based on your experience would be very subjective unless he could
duplicate its circumstances. If he is running identical hardware &
software, then a benchmark becomes useful. But if he is running
something that differs in even a tiny-seeming detail (8m of video ram
instead 16, for instance) someone else's benchmark is nothing more
than a vague quideline.
People who believe what they read on the outside of software /
hardware packages are the lawful prey of the fiction writers the
world over.
Perhaps I did not explain myself clearly the first time. I hope this
post remedies that.
