What model scanner do you have? If it's something that's actually
supported under Linux at all, I'm sure it will come along soon enough.
The version of Vuescan I've been using doesn't have support for USB
scanners under Linux, but now I see that support for at least a few have
been added to the latest version.

Unfortunately, scanners are one of those pieces of hardware that can
either conform to a standard or be completely proprietary. If the
former, support will eventually come along, if the latter, it's not
likely to ever be supported except in the big mainstream OS.
