I think the real test is going to be whether or not "Lindows" is ever
anything but vaporware. So far it's showing all the classic symptoms of
being vaporware and snake oil. My guess is that it's nothing more than
a last-ditch effort at someone to grab up some of the last remaining
bits of Linux-oriented VC with something that sounds like a sane idea
but will eventually be canned with an excuse of "lack of funds" or
something similar.

I have very very low expectations that this product will ever be
anything, and if it is, I'd go so far as to bet the farm that it's just
a repackaged RedHat with the latest CVS of WINE included, preinstalled.
There's some possibility that they might license the Transgaming or
Transvirtual or whoever it is that's got the Direct-thingie enabled WINE
and the deal with Mandrake and making the "Linux Gaming Edition" with
"The Sims", but as I see this as nothing more than an attempted
money-grab, I doubt it.
