It sounds like the guy has a worm. My wife was attacked by one of those
a while back. The only solution was to analyze the headers and come up
with the point of entry for the email. In that case, it was the point
where it was handed off to the first relay (the origin email address was
spoofed). Turned out to be a university. I called their computer
department and they were quite apologetic; fixed it promptly. Yes, you
can filter it, but it still chews bandwidth, and it won't stop if you
just filter it. I don't know how useful the abuse@ addresses are. They
didn't help my wife much, though it can't hurt to let them know.
