which erroneously states that Oracle is not available for the Linux
platform. It most certainly is available for that platform.
According to the Oracle website, Linux is a supported platform. The
article had stated that the lack of applications such as Oracle and
SAP AG for Linux impedes its acceptance in matured IT installations
and unfairly characterizes shops which have adopted Linux as lacking
in maturity, hinting that their decisions are based on faulty, hasty,
research.
Since there is no such lack; as attested to by Oracle at the
following link, I submit that the faulty research lies elsewhere.

I would suspect that the acceptance is not impeded in technologically
adept installations, but is impeded in those falling behind in their
use of technology. It took me less than ten minutes to determine that
Oracle is supported and to fire off an e-mail inquiry to SAP AG. Any
IT person (or reporter) worth their salt could certainly do the same.
The IDG article about Asian acceptance of Linux erroneously stated
that neither Oracle nor SAP AG was available for Linux. I have
demonstrated that Oracle is certainly currently available.
Perhaps you should check with SAP, as well.
