Here's a real, fairly typical, unobnoxious Linux.com email. We have a
headline, "Introduction to Linux and Linux.com" in big letters on the
main page that leads to an article that answers every one of this
person's questions but, he/she/it sends email instead of clicking on the
link. Name removed to protect the ignorant. My "canned" reply follows.
(You *don't* think I answer 10 to 100+ of these every day by hand, do you?)

Dear sir ,

Can you help me to know any thing about your operating system ????
What does it look like ?? Does it seems like DOS ???
Does it very difficult to learn ????
From where can I get this operating system & what types of software &
hardware does it support ??? Please send for me your answers as
soon as possible .............
Note : Why did you choose the "penguin" as a symbol for your operating
system ?????

linux.com reply

Linux.com only has three full-time editorial people -- and over 100,000
daily readers. There is no way we can personally answer even a small
fraction of the requests we get for Linux help and information.

We wrote the following article (it's on the main page of Linux.com) to
help you find the information/help you need. It will either answer your
question directly or point you to a place where it can be found:

http://linux.com/learn/newsitem.phtml?sid=93&aid=12555

If this fails, search engines are great tools. We use and recommend
google (http://google.com).

Thanks for understanding,
