Hello All,
I use RH7.1 During the install on this box, I selected to install the DHCP
server. However, when going to configure the /etc/dhcpd.conf file, I find it
is not there (that's where it put it on my other RH7.1 box).
So, I tried to install DHCP server using the RPM from the CD. I am now stuck
in a loop so to speak (please see below). When I try to either install or
upgrade the package, it tells me it is already installed. When I try to
remove or verify the package it tells me it is not installed. I tried using
the command...
rpm --rebuilddb but that didn't seem to make any difference.
[root@main RPMS]# rpm -ihv dhcpcd-1.3.18pl8-10.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
package dhcpcd-1.3.18pl8-10 is already installed
[root@main RPMS]# rpm -V dhcpcd-1.3.18pl8-10.i386.rpm
package dhcpcd-1.3.18pl8-10.i386.rpm is not installed
[root@main RPMS]# rpm -e dhcpcd-1.3.18pl8-10.i386.rpm
error: package dhcpcd-1.3.18pl8-10.i386.rpm is not installed
[root@main RPMS]#
How can I either repair this installation or remove it so I can reinstall
DHCP? Thanks!!
Glenn.
