Unfortunately, because NTFS is considered "priprietary intellectual
property" and not documented anywhere, I'm pretty certain that Partition
Magic is the only soft that understands the NTFS filesystem and
partition formats well enough to be able to effectively and safely
resize it.

I'm not saying this and you didn't hear it from me and it was never
posted to this list because I'm not sure of the legality of this
suggestion relative to various proprietary software licensing baloney,
but you could always ask around and find someone who could let you use
their copy of PM just long enough to resize that W2K partition and then
give them their disks back...
