I just downloaded both cds and installed it on an older box.
First this box gave me trouble with SuSE (couldnt set a suitable monitor/card
combo) and Mandrake---used both 8.1 and 8.2(cooker) same prob as with SuSE
but amplified. Neither one,and I do use SuSE on one of my other boxes---love
it, would install without balking on this old hardware. The box is an old 333
using s3 verge card and AD 1815 sound card. Here is the surprize ELX not only
installed but did it without burping, and it workin fine. I dont think its a
distro I would be real comfy with(epecially the double clicking) but my wife
was real comfortable with it and even liked it---go figure.
Maybe Linux will gain a user base with a distro like this---easy
install---everything worked out of the box, and my wife who could care less
what kind of OS it is as long as it does what its supposed to do liked it
and was usin it right out of the box.
There may be a desktop future for Linux with a distro like this
The "out of the box" referral means no tweaking involved, zero, zilch.
Anyway thats my two cents worth
