The 98box should eth1 use dhcp for auto IP and attach it to the dsl modem.
eth1 should be connected to the hub and have a static IP. The dhcp service
on the linux box should supply the IP of the eth1 to dhcp clients for their
gateway. Honestly, you would save yourself a lot of hassel and time buying a
cheap cable/DSL router (Linksys makes $37 four port router/switch.) The 98
box must also be configured to "share" internet connection.
