Hmm, the "data inconsistency" and request to run fsck manually usually
could mean that the filesystem is corrupt, but more commonly that it's
trying to mount the wrong kind of filesystem. Double-check your
/etc/fstab. That sounds like the kind of thing you would see if you
have 'ext2' in your fstab but an XFS filesystem, or vice-versa.

Did you actually reformat that partition to be XFS or did you just
change the fstab? You will have to reformat it for it to actually be
XFS, not just change what it says /etc/fstab. There is no in-place
anything-to-XFS conversion utility.
