Derek,

I downloaded this version of the SGI kernel "2.4.9-12SGI_XFS_1.0.2". I am
assuming that everything was built in. It was an RPM install of that
version based on RedHat. I did not 'build ro recompile the kernel' as such.
their site is http://oss.sgi.com

I am not at home at the moment so I cannot remember the specific error
except that, the system will not load and I am given the option to hit ctrl
D or enter the root password to continue. It says if I remember correctly
that there is a data inconsistency and that I should run fsck manually.

Did you build XFS "built-in" or as a module? If it's a module, you
might have some modutils configuration problems where it can't find the
appropriate module to load.

What's the specific error?
