I would call it making one too many backup copies of your software. Lets say
that you want to make a back up of your valuable software in case your house
starts on fire. Well, obviously you don't want to store it at your own
house. You store the copy at your next door neighbors. But suppose its a
really big fire and it catches his house on fire too. Then the only
practical alternative is to keep a backup at every neighbors house for
several blocks. But suppose a volcano erupts and takes out the whole town.
Then you need to keep some backups in several different cities as well. But
what if a really large nuke takes out several cities.......maybe store a copy
on a pirate ship. Have I gone off the deep end yet?
