I have two daemons running, one for each CPU. Ksoftirqd-CPU0 and CPU1.

Upon reading I have found complaints about these daemons taking a hit on
performance of up to 20% during peak loads. I just noticed these upon
installing SGI XFS for SMP. Vs 2.4.9-12. It is used to regulate irq
contention as I read the article. I am running RedHat 7.1. Does anyone
have any input on these daemons? and the patch for the performance hit?
