Au Contraire my friend,

I, as you, would rather go whole hog and just go linux on the desktop as I
am preparing to do. However, there is a great cadre out there who are
afraid of what they do not know and by moving them a step at a time it is
much easier. And then there is the issue of all the existing MS documents
that must be accessed and just how do you do that with all the Linux word
processors without making, in some cases, major adjustments in the
formatting of those documents.

The Linux word processors will mature to a point that they can handle the MS
documents easily and when that happens, the move to those word processors
can take place without any pain.

That goes for Excel documents as well.

I am not saying that there are not some situations where the client can be
moved to Linux entirely, but rather it is best to analyse the situation and
pick the best approach for the migration. A poorly done migration will
deter 10 other people from ever making the move. A good migration will
maybe convince one other person to migrate to Linux. I would rather have
the bird in the hand than lose the next 10 potential clients because of a
poorly planned migration.

This will not be the last of the alternatives, it is just the first to look
like it could convince a client to migrate without a big hassle.

Seems counterproductive to me.
Why not just use kmail, evolution, mozilla/netscape mail, etc, etc, etc.
instead?
