Hello Dave,
I wanted to say First you should not be contacting a OEM contact unless you
are indeed a OEM Like Dell , Compaq etc.,
This is from Red Hats web site.

REDHATS own words

Red Hat is building a line of products and services designed for educators.
If you are an educator, administrator, or IS manager at an accredited public
or private non-profit educational institution, direct inquiries to the
appropriate person at Red Hat, Inc.

Ordering software and manuals in bulk to run educational classes on Red Hat
Linux.
Please send email to eduproduct@redhat.com.

I do not know how you got to a OEM you clearly need to explain the following
that about 30 machines for a School that is NON PROFIT ! This will be used
for Kids to learn on! If you experience any problems then I am sure we can
get it rectified. Now If you are more gung ho for S.u.S.E. then I will make
a call to our good friend at S.u.S.E. who I am sure could help. I would try
the RedHat first though because this is what was originally scoped out and
planned for. Now before some one comes UN glued S.u.S.E. Rocks as well
!!!!!! I am not taking side but because some things went wrong I would try
again first. I.M.H.O.

Jon "MADDOG" Hall from Linux International has many times talked about
schools using RedHat in fact that download the Distro and Install it. Then
he goes further on to explain that these schools do not pay one cent for it.
Because the indeed use the GPL Distro Copy.

Also if you went through the lines of contacting a OEM Sales person yes then
they think you are selling mass produced Machines Multi Million dollar typed
business and then you fall into having to support the stuff and etc.,, Again
do not approach them as a OEM!!!!

Remember the OLE saying if there is a will there is a way!!!!!!!!

Also I agree with Ian no bashing please.

We should help each other not Bash! Perhaps the person who started this
should sit back and think maybe the approach was wrong which I am positive
it was. How ever this is not grounds for calling names.

Sit back deep breath and remember The Sky is Blue and the Grass is Green!

Peace
