[SLUG] Why my computer wouldn't network at PWC...

I think I've figured it out: because I run PPPoE, my machine is set up to use
ppp0 as its interface to the outside world. So, all of my scripts, firewall
rules, etc, would be set up to use that at well. Part of the reason that eth0
wouldn't work is because of PPPoE again. When I'm running through my DSL
connection, eth0 isn't really there, and that may be why when we try to ping
out from eth0 the pings couldn't go anywhere. Apparently PPPoE was still
trying to do its thing, even though we weren't asking it to.

I'm still clueless over eth1, though. <shrug> ;-)

Russell

PS. Thanks to everyone for their help in trying to make my computer talk to
the network.
