I have definitely played those games ... WC3 is great, but
Conquerors is soo much better than WC2 that they are not even worth
comparing.

It must be the other way round ... you must not have played Conquerors
with the most recent patches.
And if by saying that the engine in AoE is boring, you mean the AI,
then you need to play humans (or me -- the machine).
The strategies in Conquerors are much more interesting than those
that developed in WC2 or Starcraft ...
WC3 is a different story (great game -- can i play it on my Linux box yet?).
