I got it to work, after comparing my old main.cf to the new one, and making
a few changes... I agree, though... It seems that it should have responded
to a telnet on port 25 even if main.cf wasn't perfect... but it's working
now :) Thanks!

| grep postfix` show? BTW, I've got a similar setup - Postfix +
Courier-IMAP + Sqwebmail (I recently switched from Squirrelmail), and I use
apt to update them regularly. It seems, though, that if the port is open
and postfix is running, it should at least respond on port 25, even if
there's some confusion about the FQDN.
