Well, forking is what happens with Free/Open Source software and its 
accompanying organizations. What I don't get, though, is why those who are 
unhappy would go to this extreme without making any effort to get things 
around here changed first. 
For example, why not propose a vote on getting the mailing list rules 
changed? Or why not simply create a list (rather than a new LUG) that can 
feed into the current mailing list for interested parties only? Even though 
we have a Benevolent Dictator (who I think is doing an excellent job), it 
doesn't mean that things can't change or be changed. 
There are ways for all of us to get what we want, if we figure out how to 
compromise. We have enough technology and people skilled enough, to create a 
solution that can be satisfactory to all...
