Hi Mike

How old is the computer?

If it is a couple years old and not used much it may be time for a new clock
battery.

Other than the on-board oscillator running slow I know of no way for a
computer to function and loose the amount of time you are talking about and
the only way that I know that a oscillator will not run at frequency is
severe over-voltage or under-voltage.

In modern circuits over-voltage usually causes erratic oscillation meaning not
a steady wave output and usually occurs just before toast while under-voltage
will usually slowdown until some critical point is reached at which it quits.

Older circuits are much more fun as they will do almost anything due to over
or under voltage. Older meaning vacuum tubes of course.

Thanks
Frank
