Do NOT use S3 chips for this. They suck when you try to put multiple
cards in the same box.

Trident chips crash like mad.

Cirrus Logic is just barely ok.

ATI work but the drivers have been so inconsistent with the many
different chipsets, you may be lucky just to find a combination that
works at all.

I would seriously consider Matrox as the only real contender, and you
can get dual-head Matrox cards pretty cheap.

nVidia proclaim to work, and Ian's done it, but when you have problems,
you're stuck with closed drivers, and in my experience the nVidia
chips/drivers either work just fine or crash constantly and inexplicably
- YMMV.
