www.blackdown.org is your friend. The problem with java is that it isn't Free
as in speech, and so ... but going to the website they have .debs, and you
should also be able to add a line to your sources.list if you want to apt-get
your java stuff. Unfortunately for me, I had to manually install some of that
anyway, since the .debs didn't install what I needed...but I run powerpc
which may explain it. ymmv...
