Hey all
I just convinced my parents to try Linux on one of their laptops. So I
loaded their Toshiba Satellite 2545CDS with Redhat 8.0. The
installation recognized nearly everything and it only required a few
tweaks to get the sound going.
Now the problem. The floppy drive. For some reason it will not work. I
can mount a disk *sometimes* but I cannot copy from or write to it. The
copy fails with an I/O error.
At first I thought it was the floppy but I can boot the system with a
DOS boot disk and it works like a charm. I can copy and perform all
standard floppy functions. But once I boot Linux the floppy does not
work properly.
HELP!!! Or I'll have to reload Windoze for them... ugh.
Regards
Russ
