Brighthouse (and TW before them) offers "virtual office". It is faster than
residential (1.5M/768K), fixed IP and you can run low volume servers. I
upgraded first to business class, but that was costing me $150/month. Virtual
office is $79.95. One if my concerns was that they might block IKE ports and
prevent my VPN from working (on the residential service). I also have Verizon
DSL Silver Enhanced (1.5/768, dynamic IP) connected to my Nexland ISB
800Turbo. No downtime, great performance, less filling, tastes great :-)

On the R/R end they only see the one IP address being used by the router.
Technically if
you're hooking up more than one system they want you to buy an additional IP
address for
each computer (they make money that way).
