A very valid question. =:)

Some background: After returning from traveling around New Zealand 8 months ago, my wife and I
have been living with inlaws and are to the point of wanting something new (at any cost). We've
got enough savings to get by for a few months and if Florida doesn't work out then we have the
option of looking elsewhere or running back home with our tails between our legs. Worst case
scenario is we end up back where we started. Also, I've been making a decent income doing
independant contracting within the New Horizons network. Since it's nationwide they fly me out
anyway so it doesn't matter where I'm at. But I'd prefer steady work.
The other big reason is that being involved with the foundation of a progressive school would be a
huge career move for my wife. Even if I end up doing non-tech work and contracting on the side
while she volunteers there it will be worth it in the long run.

So yeah. Call it forward-thinking, call it stir-craziness, call it the impetuousness of youth...
it's probably all of the above. =:)
