[SLUG] Interesting Note

I have been involved in reviewing a RFQ issued by the City of St. Pete,
in our discussion with them over bits and pieces of it, we offered
LINUX as one of our server solutions (we only use LINUX and UNIX as
our database server solutions) we did not get good vibs from them
with respect to the use of Linux (they were not real happy about
Unix, and really appear to be looking for a Windows solution).

Have any of you had any dealings with the City of St. Pete in this
regard? Are they that Windows Centric?

Sure seems one would be trading their mother for a ass with regards
to sensitive database handling in the Windows vs LINUX/UNIX area.
I guess I just do not trust Windows with my database.

To paraphrase my flight instructor;
"the only dumb question is the one you DID NOT ask resulting in my going out
and
having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn and twisted
metal."
