On a test laptop, I did an apt-get for the 2.4.18 kernel-image and saw
the nfsd kernel module under /lib/modules/2.4.18-1-686/kernel/fs/.
Do this (as root)-
$ apt-get install kernel-image-2.4.18-1-686 \
kernel-source-2.4.18 kernel-headers-2.4.18-1-686
Follow the instruction on updating the kernel/lilo. Add nfsd to your
/etc/modules. Restart to load the new kernel.
$ echo nfsd >> /etc/modules
