Dave I feel your pain. And I can tell you how I got
past this. DON'T USE DSELECT. I install the OS then
add everything afterwards using apt-get intall package
name. You can get a list of packages using apt-cache
search *. Every time I used dselect I would end up
thinking I was insatlling something and end up
removing half my os. Since I quit using dselect I have
no problems installing Debian.
