My guess is you're running a DHCP client on your system, and it's changing
the hostname based on the lease it receives from a DHCP server. Hence
your shell prompt (generated from the hostname) changes as well.
There's probably a way to change this behavior in the DHCP client
configuration, but I don't know what that would be offhand. Hopefully
this points you in the right direction though.
