As Ian says, the gist of it is that the boxed edition contains GPL code
_and_ SuSE proprietary code like the installer and YaST. You are _not_
authorized to install any of the proprietary code on any machines other
than the machine for which you purchased the license. The rep did say
that you _are_ welcome to remove said packages from the core and copy
the GPL pacakges to your heart's content. You just wind up with
something other than SuSE Linux when you do that.

As for the ftp-able version, that has different licensing I'm sure, but
the topic at hand was regarding copying the SuSE 9.0 Professional CDs.
