Don't feel alone! I remember the first time I tried using exim, I
thought, "How can this .conf file possibly be easier than sendmail?!!?"
The more I use exim though, I like it. I also like sendmail and I still
use it. To define "like" I mean I understand, fully, how to configure
it. Since you have figured out how to make exim relay for you, (I
originally had problems with my Debian machines trying to send their
updates to "The Linux Counter" http://counter.li.org ) I will say I only
have postfix to meddle with now.
