Thanks Kwan, these tips helped! I've also found that Kmail runs much better
than Mozilla Mail under KDE, so that's what I'll use.
I couldn't find the dual speed processor option in the BIOS (I just updated to
version 8.2) unless you're referring to the power saving options, which I
have set to full power. /proc/cpuinfo shows a 400MHz Celeron.
