I just finished CGS1760, Introduction to UNIX taught by Wayne Pollock at
HCC. This is a good course for someone wanting to get a comprehensive Into
to Unix / Linux..
The three credits at HCC were $199.72. Registration was $20.00. Total cost
minus the text book was $219.72
The text book for the Intro course runs around $50.00 (used)

uses a different book. It is my understanding that the same books used for
this past semester will be used again for the upcoming Into and Admin 1
courses. You may be able to find used books for these courses at the campus
book store as the current classes are finishing up this week. However, many
retain the books for reference.

at HCC this past semester can be viewed at

current syllabus and information for the current Admin 1 course, starting
next semester, this course will be split into 2 courses so the material can
be covered more thoroughly.
