Hmm. Odd. You can try dropping into a shell during the install (it's on one of
the virtual consoles) then running the mkswap command before the step that it
turns on swap. It does sound like it's not running mkswap correctly. How large
is your swap partition? I seem to recall an error with very large partitions.
