It's in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (as locate showed us), and you can hand-edit
it, use the standard xf86 tools, or use `dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86`
to use the setup scripts included with the debian package.

Just wait until you want to install some application that requires half of
your system libraries to be updated. That was the kind of thing that
finally drove me away from slack. Of course there are apt repositories
for nearly every distro now, but *shrug*
