I had a Linux 2.0.x router (used ipchains), and I had a situation
something like this:

 24.x.x.x 192.168.0.1
+----|-----------|----+
| eth1 eth0 |
| outside inside |
+---------------------+

>From inside, I could not connect to any port on the external interface.
Then, I replaced it with a USR8054, and I could. So the logic within the
router determines whether you can.
